    You can get acreage in the Amarillo Tx area for around $700 to $1000 an acre, maybe up to $2000 for some really prime land with a good location. There’s a ranch for sale now that’s around 18,960 acres for $12 million, that’s like not much more than $600 per acre. You may not need that much land though.

      Not anymore. People moving to Texas have driven land and home prices through the roof. Cheapest 20 acres we have found is $9,000 an acre. West Texas has some cheap land, but not near any towns.
