Congratulations to Scott McNally with Bar M Real Estate for his sale of 12,847-acre Double L Ranch in New Mexico’s Lincoln County. The January 12 sale was the largest land sale based on data submitted through the Lands of America Comparable Sales program over the past seven days.
Comprising mostly BLM lease acreage (11,246 acres), the sale conveyed with lease and deeded acreage (640 acres), an existing herd of cattle, small amount of equipment and the ranch HQ. Framed by the Carrizozo Malpais escarpment to its east, the Double L Ranch’s is a mix of mostly level grassland that transitions to hilly land with intermittent draws and arroyos.
Framed by the scenic Sierra Blanca range, which includes skiing and snowboarding at Ski Apache Resort, Lincoln County offers a mix of outdoor-recreation opportunities as well as gaming at several casinos and racetracks around Ruidoso, the largest town in the county. The Valley of Fires Recreation Area, four miles west of Carrizozo, offers nature trails and camping.
