Congratulations to Fred Stumberg with Kuper Sotheby’s International Realty for his September 6th sale of 2,530-acre Lampasas Ranch. This sale was recorded through the Lands of America Comparable Sales program.
The ranch, centered an elegant owner’s home shaded by oak and cedar elms, was purchased and established by a World War I flying ace who went on to a successful career in advertising before starting his career as a rancher. The present-day beef cattle operation was continued by his daughter following his passing in 1981.
Located just under 100 miles northwest of Austin, Lampasas Ranch is your archetypal Hill Country ranch, with a landscape of gentle, bluestem grass-covered hillsides, intermittent creeks and shady groves of oaks, elms and pecan trees.
Encompassing 714 square miles on the Edwards Plateau, Lampasas County sits just north of Burnet County is one of 25 counties officially comprising Texas Hill Country. Along with its numerous private ranches, the county’s Hancock Springs and Hancock Springs Park offer an array of outdoor activities which include, picnicking, jogging paths, and open areas for dogs to run. For those who prefer to stay indoors, the Fiesta Winery is a great way to beat the summer heat and enjoy some local wine.
