Tripp County is the state’s largest cattle producer. The Winner area is popular for top-notch pheasant hunting, as well as species including deer, turkey, prairie dogs, grouse and coyotes. Winner, the county seat, is also located along the Oyate Trail, a 395-mile stretch of scenic highway that runs between Sioux City to Hot Springs and showcases the region’s Lakota Sioux Indian as well as European settler heritage.
