Delta County, Colorado Mountain Land For Sale

Often overlooked for Colorado's other outdoor playgrounds to the west and north of Denver, the towns of Hotchkiss and nearby Paonia are part of Delta County, a 1,149-square-mile area with elevations ranging between 4,000 and 11,000 feet. Along with multiple vineyards and wineries, the lower slopes comprise farms and ranches, u-pick-em orchards and small towns for farmers' markets, antiques and crafts. The county is also the gateway to 30,750-acre Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, a popular outdoor destination for backpackers, kayakers and anglers. Gunnison Gorge is also a popular venue for summer whitewater rafting excursions down the wild and rugged Gunnison River. A total of approximately 100,000 acres were listed for sale in Colorado's Delta County recently, representing a combined nearly $255 million in Delta County land for sale. Delta County ranks 10th in the Rocky Mountain State based on the total amount of acres of land for sale among all the counties in Colorado. There were three properties listed as sold in Delta County through the Land Network Comparable Sales Program. This represented a total value of $4,580,000. Delta featured the most land for sale. Economically speaking, Delta County's is largely dependent on mining and mineral extraction-related businesses and services. Delta County is Colorado's 40th biggest county (1,148 square miles). It's located in the Southwest Colorado region of the state.
