The Texas Panhandle gets its name for its proximity to the handle-shaped portion of its neighbor, Oklahoma. It is the state's least populated region. Agriculture and farming drives the Hall County economy, with 390 farms recorded in the county during the U.S. Census in 2012. Farming activities in Hall County generate annual revenues of $8 million, most of which is from crops. Hall County is the 153rd biggest county (904 square miles) in Texas. It's located in the Rolling Plains North Texas region of the state.
