Hill County, of which Havre is the county seat, is a sparsely-populated (less than six people per square mile), rural area on the border with Canada and the provinces of?Alberta and Saskatchewan to its north. As you'd expect, farming and associated agricultural services are the main economic drivers here. Sharing a section of the country's northerly "Hi-Line," Hill County is bisected by U.S. Highway 2 and a leg of Amtrak's epic Empire Builder service between Chicago and Seattle.
