North Texas generally refers to the counties in the north-central part of the state, excluding those in the Texas Panhandle. It covers the metro areas of Dallas-Fort Worth and Wichita Falls and their surrounding counties. It is the state's most populous region. Kaufman County ranks 22nd in Texas for the total number of acres of land currently advertised for sale. Among cities in Kaufman County with farms and ranches for sale, Terrell had the most land for sale. Kaufman County is Texas's 202nd largest county (807 square miles). It's located in the Dallas Prairie Texas region of the state.
