Based on the total acres currently listed for sale on Land.com, New Mexico is among the top three states in the country for land and rural property for sale. The overall value of farms and ranches for sale in the state amounts to nearly $4 billion, and covers almost 1 million acres. Of the 33 counties in the state, Santa Fe County has the most farms, ranches and rural real estate for sale. Looking at data recently recorded through the Land Network Comparable Sales program, the most land and rural property sales were recorded in Luna County. Some suggested agricultural applications for land currently listed for sale in New Mexico include livestock or irrigation use. Outdoorsmen can hunt for wildlife including mule deer, elk, turkey, bear, whitetail deer, and ducks on land for sale here, while fishermen can cast for trout, catfish, and bass.
