The Texas Panhandle gets its name for its proximity to the handle-shaped portion of its neighbor, Oklahoma. It is the state's least populated region. Sherman County has a large agricultural economy, with 313 farms recorded in the county during the latest U.S. Census. Farming activities in Sherman County generate annual revenues of $13 million, the majority of which comes from livestock products. Sherman County is the 121st biggest county (923 square miles) in Texas. It's located in the Panhandle Texas region of the state.
