Every major game species is represented on this privately owned wetland reserve.  A 150 acre partnership with the NRCS Wetlands Reserve Program has resulted in unbelievable hunting opportunities.  Deer sign is everywhere especially in the timber located next to the 130 acres owned by the Warren County Conservation Board where hunting is prohibited.  The property sits near the Warren/Marion County line - 2 counties famous for producing record book bucks including the "Franz" buck and the Iowa Deer Classic award winning "Titan".  Turkey tracks and feathers are all over the bottom ground & native grass fields.  Fields of prairie grass hold pheasants and bring the possibility of quail.  The real treasure of this tract is the countless varieties of waterfowl that reside in the wetlands portions of the bottom ground.  Everywhere you turn there are huge numbers of ducks and geese taking off or landing.  Coal Creek runs through the middle of the property feeding the wetland and provides the opportunity for catfishing.  There literally isn't a common Iowa game species you can't hunt on this one.  A 1 acre camping site was withheld from the reserve to enable the new owner to park a camper at the road.  Drive time from Des Moines and suburbs is under 30 minutes down Hwy 5.
