The Ballplay Swamp is an extensive network of contiguous wetlands that span about 3500+/- AC in Cherokee and Etowah counties, and the area is teeming with wildlife, especially ducks. There are established duck blinds in place as indicated on the map, and the current hunters have staged out boats/canoes in various areas to help maneuver around the property easier. This area has held waterfowl in the Coosa River flyway for decades. Only 1:30 from Birmingham and around 1:45 from Atlanta, this could make someone a great place close to home as an alternative to traveling out to Arkansas or MS, LA.
