This recreational haven is conveniently located just over 19 miles from downtown New Meadows.  This community lies along the Payette River Scenic Byway where State Highway 55 and US Highway 95 converge.  Its central location and access to a plethora of year-round recreational activities make New Meadows a popular destination for travelers.  Residents partake in local annual events such as Meadows Valley Days, the Adams County Fair and the Leroy Matthews Memorial Softball Tournament.  Locals and visitors also enjoy swimming at Zims Hot Springs or golfing at Meadow Creek Golf Resort. 

Pastimes such as river rafting, kayaking, fishing, boating, jet skiing, camping, hiking, skiing or soaking in one of the area’s natural hot springs are just a way of life here. 

In fact, within 30 minutes in all directions from New Meadows, are some of the best outdoor adventures available in Idaho.  To the north is Riggins, Idaho, known for its excellent Steelhead and Salmon fishing.  Riggins is also the gateway to the scenic Hells Canyon Recreation Area.  To the southwest is Lost Valley Reservoir and the Weiser River Trail.  Finally, to the southeast is the resort town of McCall, Idaho which sits along the banks of Payette Lake.  McCall is a weekend escape for many residents from the Boise metro area.  The area is home to Brundage Mountain, the Little Ski Hill, and the Tamarack Resort thus making it known for its winter recreation.  Popular winter sports include Nordic skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, tubing, and snowboarding.
