The gated entry leads to impressively landscaped grounds surrounding this architecturally significant residence built mainly of PISE'. The PISE' walls were engineered and constructed by pioneering rammed-earth innovator and PISE' inventor, David Easton. Eighteen-inch thick earthen walls provide year round comfort and minimal use of energy. Supplementing the warm beauty of the PISE' interior walls are efficient radiant concrete floors throughout the house. The main living space includes 20-foot cathedral-beamed ceilings over the open living room, dining room, kitchen and master bedroom. The chef's kitchen includes concrete counters, stainless steel appliances and a spacious pantry. Large dormers, French doors and windows flood the home with natural light. The owners and ladscape contractors designed the landscape to reflect nature and to harmonize with the PISE' walls. They sited earthen blocks singly and in groups to bring meaningful order to handsomely arbored garden entrances along crushed granite paths, opening to view the succulent table and water features. Nearby is a sunny studio connected across a breeze-way to an office.
