Minatare, NESioux County

Located 12 miles north of Lake Minatare and just two miles west off of the Henderson Road sits the Sioux County Irrigated Farm. Comprised of a total of 2,239 deeded acres +/-, the property has 1,004 acres of irrigated ground with the balance, 1,235 acres, being grassland. The 1,004 acres of irrigated land lays under six pivots. The perimeters of the pivots are fenced and the pasture lying on the outskirts of the pivots is fenced separate. All six of the Valley pivots are low pressure with drop nozzles and powered with diesel generators. Of the six pivots, three pivots are ten tower, two are nine tower and one pivot is an eight tower. Part of the irrigated acres participates in the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP). There are 371.1 acres in the program with annual income payments of $37,110 coming for the next two years. The contract on the acres in the program expires in 2011 and is unable to be irrigated till 2012. The pasture portions of the property have windmills as a water source.
