Sanderson, TX 79848 - Terrell County

History. This unique ranch is located in a part of Texas steeped in history. The property is part of the Frank Harrell ranch which was homesteaded in the late 1800s. It is also at the site of the last train robbery attempted by Ben Kilpatrick, who was known to ride with Butch Cassidy, Kid Curry and the Sundance Kid, and who was killed in the attempt. The story of this incident is preserved in a Texas historical marker located right across the highway from this property.

Location. This west Texas ranch is located 10 miles east of Sanderson, Texas in Terrell

County. The property has easy access with highway frontage on the southern boundary.

Terrain. The remote and secluded terrain consists of some flat lands as well as Sanderson Canyon running through the center of the property. Some of the brush species on the property include; creosotebush, lecheguilla, mesquite, ceniza and ocotillo, as well as some oaks and buckeye in the canyon area.

Improvements. The property is fenced and also has a concrete water trough from the shared well. There is a good location for a hunter cabin or trailer with easy access.

Water. A water agreement is in place with a shared windmill off the western side of the property.

Wildlife. Numerous species of West Texas wildlife are found on the place. These include mule deer, white-tail deer, blue quail, javelina, bobcats and maybe even an occasional mountain lion.

Minerals. Minerals on the property are negotiable with the owner.
