Anderson Butte Road, Medford, OR 97501 - Jackson County

The 500 acre Anderson Butte Road Tree Farm is located four miles southwest of Medford, along Anderson Butte Road, and has an estimated 760 MBF of primarily Douglas-fir on 130 acres, based on a cruise from April 2018. The balance of the tract has 15 year-old reproduction. A pre-commercial thinning was done about 15 years ago on 50 acres, with some remaining residual merch volume. The southwest section of the tree farm is impacted by an owl circle. Please see Supplemental Information Package for cruise report and map of owl circle.

The property has mostly north-facing slopes. Griffin Creek runs along the northern section of the tree farm. Access is in the northeast section from Griffin Creek Road via an easement. The northeast section contains an excellent potential view homesite, which would require approval for a Conditional Use Permit for a large tract forest dwelling. The Douglas-fir site index is III. Logging roads are rocked, and provide access throughout the property. BLM is the adjoining owner to the west and southeast. Private owners are to the north, south and east. The tree farm has excellent access to nearby log markets in Medford, White City, and Grants Pass.
