This farm has been set-up to efficiently process and precondition stocker cattle. There are four large pens each with 80’ of double-sided concrete feed bunk, a nice working area with hydraulic chute and a number of pastures that flow well to the headquarters. There is a 60x80 metal building with a concrete floor and separate office in one end and a round pen in the other. There is a 1988 single-wide, 3-bedroom, 2-bath mobile home, two overhead feed storage bins, several items of farm equipment including a JD 4020D tractor, a Ford 2T truck and a number of water storage tanks and

drinking tubs that go with the farm. Most of the perimeter and cross fencing is nearly new barbed wire with steel posts. There is a good domestic well at the headquarters.

The east half section is irrigated with two late 70’s model Valley center-pivot sprinklers that are nozzled at 300 and 350 gpm. A third pivot point is located on the southwest quarter. There are two irrigation wells that are approximately 400’ deep equipped with 8” turbine pumps, one of which was recently reconditioned. There is another well near the northeast corner of the farm with a submersible electric pump and motor that will produce 125 gpm. Bluestem grass was sowed on 160 acres under the pivots but did not establish well.

Florida Power and Light has purchased an option that would allow them to lease this farm for the construction of wind turbines to produce electrical power. The owner believes that they plan to begin this project in 2010. This farm is well suited for a stocker preconditioning operation but also has the real possibility of wind energy income.
