Nestled in one of the most breathtaking landscapes of the West, the Sky Mesa Ranch is one of the largest intact private holdings in the region. Encompassing vast, pristine acreage across Colorado and Utah, this extraordinary property offers conservation values, premier wildlife habitat, and direct adjacency to public lands, including the Manti-La Sal National Forest and unencumbered views of the La Sal Mountain Range. With remarkable improvements, exceptional hunting opportunities, and seamless accessibility, including a private helipad, Sky Mesa Ranch is a true legacy property for the discerning landowner.
Hunting
In addition to the unique character of the land, one of the most appealing aspects of the Sky Mesa Ranch is its excellent big game hunting opportunities. The ranch lies within the coveted GMU 60 that borders two adjacent trophy hunting units and also provides for over the counter elk tags. The ranch is also eligible to participate in the Colorado Landowner Preference Program which can provide for mule deer buck tags.
The ranch boundary is adjacent to BLM and National Forest on three sides, and shares the fourth boundary with one other large ranch. Elevations on the ranch range from 7,000 to 8,400 feet and prime wildlife habitat includes grassy meadows bisected by creek drainages that are surrounded by Ponderosa forest, dark timber, ponds, springs, and seeps. In addition to elk and mule deer, other wildlife species found on the ranch are turkey, black bear, and mountain lion.
The ranch is located about 20 minutes from the eclectic town of Gateway, Colorado that straddles the Dolores River and is surrounded with red rock landscapes in every direction. The Ranch is located about 90 minutes from Grand Junction, the largest city in Western Colorado, and is approximately 5 hours from Denver or Salt Lake City.
