Connersville, IN 47331 - Wayne County

This area of Wayne County has produced several P&Y and B&C bucks in recent years. This farm adjoins Fayette County which is also well know for cranking out monsters. Not only does this farm have deer but wild turkeys are also regulars and found in good numbers. This parcel has access from 2 paved roads on the north and west sides. This access is perfect when hunting the predominantly south and south-west winds we see here in east-central Indiana. From the road this woods looks to be thick and flat but what you cant see is a large, deep draw that runs from the south end to the north. The draw acts as a divider of the woods, and creates several funnels for amazing stand locations. At the bottom of the draw you find several small springs that even after weeks with no rain, maintain a fresh water source for the wildlife. Several acres of this woods is incredible bedding and sanctuary, growing in tall forbs and grasses. In some areas the under story is so thick that you have to crawl to navigate through. These areas have several trails leading to and from the food sources and other bedding locations. There are access trails throughout the property with some used regularly, and others making ideal for periodically slipping into hunting locations. There are some marketable sized trees on the farm now and nice future harvests are possible with the large numbers of walnut trees currently in the 5-12 range. This woods is in a well know big buck producing area of east central Indiana and has everything a serious hunter could ask for; access, security cover, food, water, and low hunting pressure which will allow the bucks here to reach a mature age.
