SOUTH 8 ~
Located within the very southern-most portion of the township of Westcliffe, CO, and just west of State Highway 69. There is no subdivision or property owners association; both the source of electricity and the municipal water and sewer lines are contiguous to the land. There are also alternatives such as solar, water hauling and vaulted septic, whatever your pleasure. Land with gorgeous views, with relative ease of access, with a sense of living in the country with so few neighbors; that's rather normal in the Wet Mountain Valley. But land encompassing all of the above, with all the essentials needed for living in the mountains (which is really different than living in the city) within walking, biking, or an atv ride's distance? Well, that's just unheard of, I mean, it's doggone special! This is the perfect acreage for a small ranch or custom home. I can picture a rugged, custom home or a sturdy rancher on this pastoral land, placed to the west to take advantage of the wet bottom ground offering several streams, springs and pools of water. The western edge of the South 8 borders the lush valley floor, pastoral and productive. Beyond are the soaring Sangre de Cristo Mountains, mighty and majestic. After a recent survey and re-fence to the correct monumentation, the north property line cuts through a beautiful (if you see things like I do, and I know not everyone does) old barn, leaving one-third of it within the South 8, and is now used for the current owner's winter hay and feed; all perfectly legal. The owners of the additional two-thirds of the beautiful old barn are very nice people and are aware of the "lot-line-infringement" and both owners share the space with a friendliness not often found nowadays. Well, that's life on the South 8, I hope you'll visit and check in on this magical land and valley.
