The timber on the tract consists of a juvenile pine plantation established in 2006, and now starting its 5th growing season. The site was planted in late February of 2006 using International Paper SuperTree seedlings, followed by an herbaceous weed control spray of 4 ounces of Arsenal and 2.25 ounces of Oust Extra in April of 2006. In the fall of 2006, the site was released sprayed to control hardwood species using a rate of 16 ounces of Arsenal and 0.5 ounces of Escort. The stand has now finished its 4th growing season and trees appear to be free to grow with an approximate height of 8-15 feet. A narrow stream buffer passes across the tract. The pine plantation stand offers good long term timber investment potential for the landowner. The tract is located in a productive area of southern Arkansas. The topography is gently rolling with primarily Harleston fine sandy loam and Guyton silt loam soils, with a reported Loblolly Pine site index of 90 feet (Base Age 50) per the NRCS Web Soil Survey.
