This nice irrigated farm consists of five adjoining quarters each equipped with a late model -mile, center-pivot sprinkler irrigation system. Four of the sprinklers are Valleys, one is a Zimmatic and are all nozzeled for 500 gpm except for the west sprinkler which is nozzeled for 350 gpm. For the 2011 crop, there were 8 wells that are approximately 300 deep and equipped with 5 or 6 turbine pumps. Seven of the pumps are powered by natural gas engines and one by a 60 hp vertical hollow shaft electric motor. Three additional wells were drilled in October, 2011 and will be equipped with 25 to 30 hp submersible electric motors and pumps. The land is nearly level with good clay loam soils. This is an excellent farm with some of the better water in this part of Hale County.
