The Galona Ranch is an excellent quail hunting ranch due to the sandy soils on the majority of the property. Over half the ranch has been strip cleared to facilitate running bird dogs and hunting off of quail trucks. The deer habitat is also great with plenty of native brush. The hunting has been managed under the MLDP Conservation Option. The entire ranch is low-fenced and cross-fenced in 4 pastures to allow rotation of cattle. There is a good set of cattle pens and a good road system.

The Galona is very well watered with 2 electric water wells, 1 solar well and 1 windmill. The ranch has several miles of waterline that services the water troughs.

The property is 1 mile east of Realitos on the north side of FM 716. In addition to the 1/2 mile of frontage on 716 there is also access off of County Road 265 that dead-ends into the ranch.
