Dairy

The dairy facility is currently permitted for 2,700 cows, of which 1,200 are milking cows. The dairy has lock-ups for approximately +/-850 cows. There is also an adjacent replacement heifer facility that has an additional 300 animal CAFO permit. Milk is shipped to Dairygold and includes 100,000 lbs. of Dairygold Base.

Milk Parlor

The Germania milk parlor is a double 24 herringbone with rapid exit that milks +/-1,000. There are two (2) newer Champion compressors and two (2) vacuum pumps (LVP 6,000). There is also an additional vacuum pump for the backflush system. There is one (1) 10,000 gallon vertical milk tank, one (1) 6,000 gallon horizontal milk tank and an additional smaller milk tank available. All milk is pre-cooled by plate coolers prior to going into tanks.

Corrals

The corrals are loafing sheds. The dairy has five (5) free stalls barns, with a capacity of 1,484 stalls. The free stall barns feature two and three row configurations. There are stanchions for 1,490 head and an animal hospital area.

Feed Storage

There is a seven (7) bay commodity barn and large hay barn on the facility. A 3,500 ton silage pit and two other pits are located near the commodity barn.

Water

There are two (2) wells and three (3) submersible pumps on the facility. Water can be pulled from the creeks via mobile pumps.

Lagoons

There are three (3) large lagoons on the farm. A box weir is located the end of the settling pond, allowing cleaner waste water to flow to the lagoons.

The farm features a screw press manure separator sending water to a settling pond and dry material to an adjacent covering, which can be used for bedding.

The dairy facility has a generator for back-up power.
